Hotel information:
I signed a contract with DoubleTree (DoubleTree Hotel Dallas, 8250 North Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75206, Tel: +1 (214) 691 8700, or 1-800-222-8733) for a group price of $75/night (tax extra, ~15%) for the nights of March 29th and 30th, with the name "ATLAS workshop". When you call in to make your reservation, please use this name.
You can choose other hotels as well. Hotels up in Richardson area are usually cheaper (~$55-65) but there is about 10 to 15 minutes drive down to SMU.
Driving directions:
From DFW airport, if you rent a car, the rental companies are south of the airport and there are rental car shuttles to pick you up at the terminal (look for ground transportation which is on the ground floor). Once you pick up your rented car, you can choose to take highway 183 towards Dallas. Highway 183 will merge into highway114 which in tern merges into highway I-35E. On I-35E, look for signs to go to I-75 or I-45. Highway I-75 and I-45 are the same road. North of Dallas it is called I-75, south of Dallas it is called I-45. Follow I-75 (also called North Central Expressway) north.
From DFW airport to DoubleTree/Campbell Center:
On I-75 northbound, exit 5A for Caruth Haven Ln. Follow the service road after Caruth, the hotel is immediately after Caruth on the right.
From DFW airport to Radisson:
On I-75 nothboound, exit 3 for Mockingbird/University Blvd. Go through Mockingbird, the hotel is on the service road between Mockingbird and SMU/Yale Blvd.
From both hotels to SMU:
From DoubleTree, get back to Caruth and cross the highway (I-75), follow the service road to University Blvd and right turn (west) into it.
From Radisson, follow the service road north, go across SMU/Yale Blvd, the next light is University Blvd and left turn (west) into it.
Follow University Blvd into a residential area and then onto the campus.
University Blvd. will dead end into a visitor's parking lot. That's where you can park. The cost is $5/day at the meter. We will try to arrange for parking stickers and will announce the information when we have it.

There is also shuttle service from DFW airport to the city. From the airport one does not need to book a shuttle. Just approach to the ground transportation floor (ground floor) and wait for a shuttle to come. There are also direct phones at the airport that will connect you to the shuttle service. If you would like to book a shuttle from its web site, visit here: http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/dfw.htm
