Jammal Noah's Ark Hoax

This is a notable hoax, based on a religious idea, that had as its target a creationist and a television production company. The creationist was Duane Gish of the Institute for Creation Research. George Jammal decided to play a joke on Gish by telling him that he (Jammal) had traveled to Turkey and found traces of Noah's Ark. A piece of railroad tie wood would be treated to make it look old and serve as the "evidence." The links below will tell the whole story.

Here are some links where you will find more about this remarkable hoax.

We found a note in the Tampa Bay Skeptics site that the producer of The incredible Discovery of Noah's Ark had been explicitly warned that Jammal's story was completely phoney.
