Overview

SMU hosts the 2017 US ATLAS Hadronic Final State Forum from December 11-15, 2017. The workshop is open to all (US) ATLAS collaborators. The workshop organization follows previous meetings of this series. More program details will be announced as they become available.

The US ATLAS Hadronic Final State Forum workshop series provides a forum for in-depth discussion of current topics in hadronic final state physics and is open to all ATLAS collaborators. ATLAS Workshop participants are encouraged to join one of several workshop projects and to use datasets and sample analysis code provided specifically for this purpose to study various aspects of hadronic final state issues. We encourage participants to be forward-thinking, initiating new projects and developing new ideas; such projects need not be limited to the present, but can be focused for future developments in areas such as HL-LHC. These projects have historically been continued with great success within the ATLAS Physics and Performance Working Groups.

Hotel booking is now available --- reserve your room at the negotiated nightly rate before November 27, 2017, to guarantee the rate!

Venue

SMU is a small, private university located just a few miles north of downtown Dallas, Texas. The SMU ATLAS group and the SMU Physics Department are very pleased to host this year's US ATLAS Hadronic Final State Forum. Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) is the 4th-largest metropolitan area in the United States, home to several universities (including ATLAS members UT-Arlington, UT-Dallas, and SMU), with a large number of entertainment options and access to campus via major public transportation routes. With two airports, you will find easy transportation from the US or abroad into the DFW area. Weather in December in North Texas is typically comfortable, with temperatures typically between 50F-70F, and with a mix of sun and rain that is typical of the Southwestern United States at that time if year.
