Final Grades Now Posted
****************************************************************
Final grades have been posted, you will find the link below. Please note that the final is NOT curved, it is on an absolute scale. Please check to make sure I did not make an error. I will be happy to fix any error, but I will not entertain any discussion on changing the grading standards or policies. Most of you would agree that I have relaxed the standards somewhat already. Please do not waste my time or your time attempting to change my mind. The final average already includes any bonus points.
Grade assignments were automatically made by my computer using the following scale:

Here is a link to the latest grades. These are all the grades excluding the final and lab grades. Grades are listed by first four.
The homework column is the average of all the homework (excluding the last homework), the two lowest homework grades have already been dropped.
The exam columns are the grades after adjustments for the curve. The percentage in test3 reflects two different averages as discussed in class. The curve for the first version of the test was 18.5 pts while the curve for the second version was 12.5.
The "Bonus Points" column is for the quiz bonus points, the maximum was ten points. The exam ave. was adjusted to include the bonus points in the following manner: (TA-BP/100)*TA+BP. Here TA=test average, BP=bonus points.
The cumulative percentage is your total class percentage as of today.
The "current points" are the points you have accumulated so far. The maximum is 55 points. There remain 20 points for the final and 25 points for the lab grade.
The last column indicates those students who have attended enough problem sessions to qualify for 5 percentage points added to final grade.
Dec 6 2000: A bug for computing test averages has been fixed. In addititon homework grades are not computed using the correct averages.

Here is a link to the current grades for this semester. The grades are listed by the first four digits of your student id number.
The grades shown have already been adjusted so that the class average is around 73 percent. With this curve in place grade assignments would be as in the standard curve. Note that the extra credit (for reading quizzes and problem session) is not included in these postings. They will be included at the end of the semester.
