Guessing in multiple choice questions will earn negative points if
the guess is wrong. The
system will not accept any late homework.
- Reading assignments as
indicated in the syllabus must be done prior to class, you must also
answer the pre-lesson questions prior to class.
- There will be hands-on
exercises during class. Class
participation and performance on the assigned exercises will have a major
impact on your grade. To
perform well you must come to class prepared by reading the assigned
material prior to class and answering the pre-class questions.
- All exams are closed-book,
and calculators are allowed. Each exam consists of multiple-choice questions,
some covering conceptual ideas, while others may be regular problems. Important
formulas will be provided. Instead of memorizing formulas, you should
strive to master the underlying physics of the formulas and how to use
them in various situations. Focus
on the concepts.
- There are no make-up
homework, class exercises, tests, or prelessons. The lowest grade in each will be
dropped.
