Electric Force and Electric Charge

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

The objective of this lab is to familiarize yourself with basic properties of electric effects that you can observe in everyday experience. You will explore simple electrostatic phenomena discussed in Chapter 21 of the textbook by Halliday, Resnick, and Walker. Some of the key ideas are summarized in the Background Link below.

EQUIPMENT

Sticky tape, pith ball on an insulating thread, pith ball stand, tape stand (wood dowel w/ base), two acrylic rods and wool swatches.
